2015 WAS A REALLY HARD YEAR (2015WHARY)
AKA: PROBLEMS IN PORTLAND QUILTS
Each of the 2015WHARY tarp quilts addresses a current political problem in Portland, Or., including but not limited to the housing crisis, issues of air and water quality, poor public policy planning specifically around tree codes and zoning and gas taxes and street fees, a lack of government transparency that prioritizes profits over people, the destruction of historic buildings, lack of readily available funding for social services and the arts, redlining and gentrification, the unintended consequences of the legalization of recreational marijuana, and the growing unrest between the haves and have-nots as the gap between these groups grows.
